ABOUT ME
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC008649) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I provide individual and group therapy to young adults and adults facing a wide variety of issues. I have extensive experience with individual and group therapy from my work in residential, day treatment and intensive outpatient settings. I'm also experienced with providing comprehensive care by working closely with psychiatrists and families of clients. I hold a BS in Psychology from University of Georgia and a MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University.
I draw from various evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic, and Family Systems to provide personalized treatment that meets the unique needs of each client. I also incorporate skills based in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Interpersonal Therapy to help my clients learn ways to more effectively connect with others, express themselves, and manage difficult emotions.

Making the decision to come to therapy can be intimidating, especially if you are concerned about feeling comfortable with opening up and sharing your thoughts, feelings and experiences. My aim is to help my clients feel understood and empowered to make the changes they seek in their lives. I approach each session with empathy, honesty and a non-judgmental attitude. This approach allows my clients and I to grow a relationship that is built on genuineness and trust. I’m an active listener who provides direct, constructive feedback as needed. I also enjoy using humor and other creative approaches in therapy.
